India’s Men’s Selection Committee has unveiled the 15-member squad for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe, featuring Assam’s Riyan Parag in his maiden call-up to the national team.

Parag’s selection marks a historic milestone for Assam and the Northeast region, as he becomes the first player from these areas to represent India at the international level. Led by Shubman Gill, the squad includes a mix of seasoned players and promising talents like Abhishek Sharma and Nitish Reddy. The tour, scheduled from July 6 to 14 in Harare, comprises a 5-match T20I series following India’s recent participation in the T20 World Cup 2024. Under Gill’s captaincy, the team aims to leverage this series to consolidate their form and prepare for upcoming fixtures.
