Delhi court has reserved its decision on the bail plea of Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal in connection with a money laundering case linked to the scrapped excise policy. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) presented evidence alleging that part of the illicit funds was used to pay for Kejriwal’s stay at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Goa during the 2022 state elections, claiming payments totaling Rs 1.5 lakh were made by Charanpreet Singh, purportedly handling AAP’s Goa poll funds. The ED argued that Kejriwal’s refusal to unlock his phone should influence the bail decision. The court had recently extended Kejriwal’s custody until July 3.
